Question:Where can I buy dog tags?
Answer: Each dog is required to have a dog tag. Tags can be purchased from the Municipal office.
Question:How do I get a Kennel License.
Answer: Minimum acreage 15 acres Marginal Agriculture, maximum 3 purebred breeds for a breeding kennel, annual fee $40.00. A boarding kennel is a commercial operation and requires rezoning. No kennels in residential areas. See By-law 2001-08

Question:Can I have other animals, eg horses, chickens and livestock?
Answer: Zoning must be Marginal Agriculture. Minimum acreage 15 acres. Quantity of livestock is determined by the Ministry of Agriculture Minimum Distance Separation formula. No livestock (including chickens) in residential areas.
Question:Do I require a license to have a garage sale?
Answer: Yes, a garage sale license is required and can be obtained at the Municipal office.
Question:How can I pay for my property taxes or my water and sewer bills? Answer: Residents can visit our office to make their payment, either at the counter or you can leave your payment in our drop-box located in the front door. You can also make your payment via telephone or internet banking. A Pre-Authorized Payment plan is also offered to property tax payers. The office accepts cash, cheque or Interac.
Question:What are the waste-site hours?
Answer: The waste-site hours are Monday and Saturday, 7:30 - 3:30. It is located on Station Road. Door to door pickup for most houses in the Rural area is Monday, urban is Friday. Door to door recycling pickup is Monday in all areas.

Answer: The County of Hastings is the governing body. Application fee is $600, total cost estimated at $4000 and time to complete at 4 months. Minimum residential lot size is 1 acre, road frontage is 150 feet. Well or holding zone required

Answer: Yes, minimum lot size 50 acres, can be water or 4 wheeler access.
Question:Can I put a trailer on a lot?
Answer: Travel trailers are only allowed in trailer parks. They can be stored on your property but not occupied. CSAZ240/1 trailers could be approved if over 800 square feet on a permanent foundation.

Answer: The minimum size is 800 square feet, for a house or cottage. Accessory buildings over 10 sq metres can only be built after the main building permit is issued. Setbacks are 100' from water, 10' from side, 25' front and rear for main building, same only 4' from side for accessory
Question:How do I get a building permit, what is the cost, how long does it last? Answer: See the forms section for application and cost. The permit expires in 1 year if you haven't started. Once you start it is active while you are making reasonable progress.
Question:How do I get to the beautiful Village of Marmora? Answer: DIRECTIONS
The Municipality of Marmora and Lake has a permanent population of approximately 4,000, and consists of 56,000 hectares located in Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, 1/2 way between Toronto and Ottawa with the urban centre abutting Hwy 7.
Directions to Marmora are: From Toronto, or 401 west, take 115, the Ottawa turnoff onto Hwy 7, through Norwood, Havelock then you arrive in Marmora. From 401 east, take the Hwy 62 cutoff at Belleville, to Hwy 14 (now Stirling-Marmora Road) through Stirling to the lights at Hwy 7 at Marmora. From Ottawa take 417 to 7 west through Perth, Kaladar, Madoc then Marmora. The Town Hall is one block east of the lights at Hwy 7, beside the Fire Hall in the large stone building at 12 Bursthall Street.
